SLASH's 1st Anniversary (March 14th)!

SLASH went live 1 year ago March 14th. We would like to get together and celebrate this event sometime in March, preferrably right around this date on a Friday or Saturday evening.

We are looking for some ideas from all of you, that you would think would be fun. We are looking into doing some mouse racing...anyone up for a bet??? If not, throw your ideas out there.

And Like always all are welcome.

PS - what is mouse racing? how about grand prix go cart racing in earth city? now that would be sweet.

Mouse racing is like horse racing except you're racing mice ... not horses.

Some of them are like drag races in that it's a straight track and nothing but a sprint to the finish line.

Others can be like an obstacle course where they put all kinds of stuff to distract the mice along the way. Those take a little longer.

They put cameras on the track and TVs throughout the place so everyone can watch the races.

I've been to a couple of them and they were a hoot.

Are there permenant mouse racing facilities in the st. Louis area? I would like to go even if you guys don't.

Not that I'm aware of. The only places that I have seen them was at an Elks logde or similar facility and the two times that I have seen them it was a charity event.

sounds highly lucrative, Like something illigal you could run out of your garage and gain a fight club like following of hoosiers to come and watch.

do the mice get rankings and lines placed on them or is every mouse ranked the same, next time you hear of one let me know, its sounds fantastic.

It depends how big of a race you put together.. some people do some many races, and only take the winners of each race to the last race.. But for the most part it is more drinking and screaming go you little #%$%$, GO!!!... Just all around a fun.. Some times the races could end in 30secs some times it may take 2mins The races I have seen was like a 8'x2' box you set the mice at one end and just wait for them to hit the other end. I do not remember if they put food at the other end to hurry them up or not.
