Sleeper banded goby

Hey guys I just got a sleeper banded goby my first ever goby! I got him a few days ago and he seems great but he keeps digging tunnels in the sand bed moving sand everywhere and making the tank filthy. Will he eventually stop I was thinking it’s because I don’t have any sand sifters so the bed may be really dirty and he’s just having a field day rn. Or is this a constant?

It is a sand sifting goby. That is how they feed so no.
That is why allot of people like and dislike them. They can keep a sandbed clean but yea they drop sand everywhere.
