Slowly Becoming an addict

Well, started with the maxima on the left, picked up the dersa a few days ago, couldn't resist, I can't figure out why i like them so much, just kind of grew on me.

Clams are the reason why I got into this hobby. When I first saw the clam display while touring the Waikiki aquarium immediately I told myself I gotta have those (not the Gigas clam though).

Looking good, I also started a small collection of clams. They are a lot happier when they have a rock to attach to, also keep an eye on your calcium and alk once they start growing they suck that stuff up!

I've got rocks buried with each of them, and i already dose the tank with my coral, so i'm good there. I'm in the process of relocating some lps under ledges, my elegance was cringing in the open on the sanded, after that i can ramp the lights up a bit higher, but that maxima has been ok down there for the past year now. I think Gigas will be the one species i won't own, but i'm pretty sure i have two more species left to go.

Looks fantastic! As your addiction grows you might want to consider a clam QT tank. I feel more strongly about clam QT than fish or coral, I have had mysterious (clam) diseases come from top notch vendors and lost all my stock once. Something to keep in mind!

Part of me is happy gigas are not found in the hobby now as I would have a tank just for one and can't spend more money... but I would!

They keep reclassifying clam species so there are several more you have left to go! Plus with devil clams making their way into the hobby if you have a couple thousand to spend you can get one of those along with a hippo, teardrop, crocea and squammy! I don't think the others are found much in tanks.

crocea and squammy's are on the on my list for now, i can get into the more rare ones after that maybe and color variations/places of origin but my hobby comes second to 3 kids, lol, so no special orders for me anytime soon. hopefully they grow fast and i have a better excuse for my wife to set up the 140g thats sitting in the garage.
