small crocea clams and larger food particles

I bought a 2.5 inch clam and was wondering if I have to worry about larger particles of food (flakes, mysis etc) clogging the plumbing up. :-) Where I placed it is where the current brings larger food particles. It certainly likes the placement - it is fully expanded. Thanks in advance.

clams usually can expel large particles. dont try to manually feed clams in such a way, and dont inundate them with a flood of particles (sand, etc.) as this could "clog" and damage their gills.

Mine can spit a snail into orbit. They're pretty good at it. Mine's front and center in a reef, and has learned to get a little nervous during feeding, just in case. The fox coral seems to like clam-spit, for whatever reason.

Yeah thanks. I dont plan to feed it but I read somewhere that large food particles can foul things up. Glad to hear they can expell them
