Small Green Hair Algae Covered Rocks

Hi Bill,

If I collect small green hair algae covered rocks from the sound, how do I disinfect rock, to ensure it doesnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t have parasites?

Hey Joe,

Just a simple fresh water dip for a couple of minutes will suffice. Though in general the odds of a parasite on the algae or rocks is pretty slim. A lot of the pods your likely to find on the algae will also be good food

will the fw / lugols dip kill the hair algae??

I wouldn't bother with the lugols, but I wouldn't expect a short dip in it to do it any harm either.
