Small Puffer with Angler?

Would a Paraluterus prionurus (Mimic Saddle Puffer) be compatible with a Antennarius maculatus (Wartskin Angler)? This would be for a 50 gallon with no other fish.

I wouldn't do it. Someone posted a video a little while back of an angler eating a very large tang. Their mouths are HUGE.

You sure about a Wartskin angler having a huge mouth? DFS shows full size to be 4" maximum. I have never owned one, so maybe their mouth is as big as their entire body????

Yep - they can eat surprisingly big fish, like up to half it's size. It may try to eat even bigger things with bad results for both.

Yes, from experience, anglers are really best kept in a species-only setup.

In this case, not only is the puffer at stake, but the puffer might actually injure/stress the angler in its attempts to graze on the "rock".
