Small Pump Wanted

I'm looking for a small pump to move the water around my 12g nano. The Backpac doesn't seem to be doing a very good job, as there is a film on top. I'm using ot to propogate RBTAs. Got 4 so far!

you have to do the overflow mod or get a nano skimmer (not protein skimmer!). The grate that lets water into the back chamber is too low so you don't really skim the top layer of water.

Yeah, definately doesn't look skimmed--although the skimmer's taking up a lot of junk. When Anthony Calfo gave his lecture on propogating anemones (what I really want to use the tank for), he said all I'd need was a small corner sponge filter. Right now, I've got the overflow of some of the stuff I got from Arash in there, until my 90g gets set up. Got 4 RBTAs, ready to be split again in there too.

no, you need something like this. There are cheaper ones out there but this will take care of your surface skum.

It's a portable overflow. It hooks on the left side of the tank where the water goes through that grate. The grate on the Nano Cube was terribly designed, it wasn't high enough. So water still flows through it but not the very top of the water where all the skum accumulates. This device hooks over your grate and creates a waterfall where only the upper suface of the water falls over it and goes into the grate, solving your crud on the top of the water problem!

Believe it or not, the tank came free, along w/a 36" PC (a lil long, I know). A customer was cleaning out her garage... I thought it would be perfect for my anemone propogation project.

I was also thinking of putting my black ocellarus pair in there & see if they'd breed. They'd have plenty of anemones to choose from.

Sorry, I didn't mention, I only have the tank. I'm using a Backpac skimmer on it.

Don't I need the hood w/the installed filter that comes w/it for that to work?

no, this hangs on the dividing wall and covers the grate.
