Smoking Zoanthids?

I got some new Zoa's in the mail today. I gave them an iodine dip and then put them in my tank. I noticed that after a few minutes, 2 polyps were spewing a redish brown substance. It would come out in puffs. It went on for about a minute or two and it appears to have stopped. What is that stuff?

I don't know but I wouldn't try smoking it (LOL), just touching them can make you sick!

They are likely expelling zooxanthellae. Nothing to worry much about. By the way, momadance is a great user name. That's about the funkiest song out there.
