Snail? Identification Help

So saw this guy in my tank tonight. No idea what it is, but don't remember adding it. Any idea what it might be?

Those like to get in my overflow weir and cause water noise. Good little buggers to have. Bad little buggers to annoy the ever loving poop out of you.

was short lived :( something killed/ate him. found a Nassarius snail cleaning out the rest of the shell today

That statement makes me doubt the stomatella ID. The shell on a stomatella is tiny. A The snail looks like a slug with a piece of fingernail on it's back. I have never seen the shell in any of my tanks and I know I have stomatella and I know some have died.

I think I just happened to look at the tank at the right time; one of my nassarius snails was on the rock. Concerned that something might be wrong I picked him up and put him on the sand, and he was holding the shell. The shell was very small, looked a lot bigger when on the living snail; But what you describe a stomatella looking like is what seemed to be in my tank. Do hermit crabs go after that type of snail? I have small red legged hermits in the tank with some snails atm.

All crabs are opportunistic. All crabs are spawns of the devil. They will kill anything when the mood strikes them
