This morning one of my large Nass. snails had what looked like a huge flatworm on it. On the tail of the snail there was a large dark red "spot" that was about 4mm by 2 mm.
Do flatworms parasitize snails? Any other thoughts as to what it might be?
I tried to remove it with suction, but the snail pulled in before I could get a good try at it. Also, like a moron, I didn't think about trying to snap a picture until after agitating the snail. If I see it again, I will try to get a picture tonight.
