When in doubt, Chuck it in the Sump or even better in the trash. It's better safe than Sorry.

I noticed the last turbo it road not moving. after close inspection and a good whiff...i noticed the turbo stank and had one perfectly round 2mm hole on the top of his shell. Not enough evidence to convict so i am going salem on it. it will remain out of water until it confesses!

Whelk. I had one that looked very similar hitchhike in on some live rock. Was positively id'd as a whelk. They are predatory. Mine was in main tank nearly a year and there where several limpets that died during this time. I feed mine to my mantis. Definitely keep it out of display. Post in other inverts, pagojoe is great, for a species id.

here is a pic of the hole. the offender has will be going to a friends 2 gal nano with one fish and one crab

Yeah, it's a muricid, Stramonita haemastoma. They make their living by drilling clams and other snails and eating them. Any other snail that it shows an interest in is likely to become dinner, too!

Cheers,

Don
