snakelocks vs turbo snail

here two shots of my anemonia viridis capturing and eating turbo snail.

well, its known that snaklelocks same as many other cnidarians like sand anemones and catalaphyllia corals prey on small crustaceans, mollusks and other available food (its even observed swallowing sea urchins ) , but honestly i didn't expect that.

this girl is still baby, it makes me wonder what damage is fully grown adult capable of..
 
no, unlike condy and probably some other Atlantic species this one can not be used as surrogate host. Most likeley they would end up being anemone food..

in friend's shop we made an experiment: we introduced 30 home bred false percs in tank housing 7 snakelocks and all clownies kept safe distance..

Gobius bucchichii (Mediterranean gobby) is only fish known to be hosting in this species.. beside it diverse shrimps and crabs are known to seek the refuge in its tentacles..
