Sneak Peek!

Hi everyone - I just can't help myself anymore. I usually like waiting until the tank is more established before posting pics, but I'm just too excited!
Here's a little sneak peek of my nano that I've been working on. The hood is done except the lights, which I've had some problems with - so here's the rimless version (with one gorg who was getting beat-up by a nemmy in my other tank) and my sump light :)
The light is only on one side - which is why the left side of the pic is darker. Right now it has two snails and three tiny hermits - all of whom seem to be afraid of me :(

did the stand allready have the glass top on it or did you add. the tank looks freakin beeeauuutiful. you should be proud to show it off. also where in the world did you get your live rock that stuff looks awesome.

nice work make sure to keep us updated with more pics as it you make progress,

oh and what kind of filter is on the back and what are its pros and cons. in the new market for one for the new frag tank. thanks

Thanks!
The stand is actually an antique cabinet that I already had. I had the glass cut to protect the top at the same time I had got the glass for the tank. I can already tell I'm going to have to refinish the top of the cupboard - oh well, no biggie.
I got the LR from CF here in Rochester. I showed up shortly after a new shipment arrived and snatched up that big piece (on the right) before it was even cured :) good timing!
The filter is just an AC70. I modified it a tiny bit and use it for some extra LR, carbon, eventually (hopefully) a small heater as well. There's a long thread about them in the nano section.
You're probably looking for something bigger though for a frag tank. This tank is only 7G :)

Thanks everyone :)
Mel - still no leaks! Yay!
Blurry - 7G
soIRNY - there is a bit of an island there. Totally unintentional. I had to have that rock, and it's a bit tall for the tank, so.......

That's awesome Lizz!!!! So you had the glass cut and you made the tank yourself?

What's your stocking list consist of?

Thanks guys - really nice to get these compliments - especially right now when I a little discouraged about lighting issues.
Justin - yes, I built this. Ordered cut glass, then Mel (thanks!!) came over and we put it together.
I think it's going to be an invert tank. I've ordered a little group of sexies, and I'm thinking pom-pom crab and/or porcelain crab. Softies (blue hornets :) ), some LPS - anything in danger of getting buried or stolen by the pistol in the 29G :)
Maybe some maxi mini and/or mini mini carpet nems.....

This is a really cool project. Congrats on assembling your own tank, it's not for the weak of heart. I love the clean rimless look.

Definitely include a porcelain crab!
