Yeah I was in the library and was watching the snow.

Mel do you work on the hill?

I am a student at the university. Also my statistics exam got canceled for today!!!!

Its freaking FREEZING out today... It was 12 degrees this morning while I was running... :(

No DOUBT!!!!

You ran outside in 12 degrees?

I ran that 15K in 17 degrees and I felt totally awesome about it but I wouldn't want to do it again.

I used go running like that -- in rain, snow, sleet, high winds. Now I have a gym membership and hit the treadmills on any day that isn't 70F and partly sunny. The older I get, the better I used to be. ;)

P.S. Back in my prime, I ran the Savannah half marathon right around New Year's and they had a freak weather snap. It was 8F with a -40F wind chill. That was a little extreme even for me back then, but I did okay (up until the point where I finished and it took me 15 minutes to find the lady who had my sweat suit).

Ummm, I ran inside the gym and the news on the tv told me it was 12 outside... :D

Running outside at 5am is a good way to get hit by a car... ;)

I'm up to 5 miles a day... :p

Sweet I might stop by one day and say hey. Its always good to meet a fellow reefer.

True 'dat. It's hard to find them too (closet reefers?!). I worked in the same lab as Mel for a long time before I knew she was keeping a reeftank! I might have been better-off though, because she introduced me to RC :D

Scott, you are a MACHINE! hah hah.

Randy...5 miles every day? That's great! I'm doing the Hal Higdon training program for the half marathon in March. I usually do 3.5 miles 3-4x per week and a long run on Sundays. This Sunday it's 8 miles (last Sunday it was 7). I friggin' HATE running at the gym. My cutoff temperature is 39 degrees. I figure that if it's in the 30s, I get a pass from running outside, though I always HATE to have to run at the gym.

I have been slacking this week, unfortunately. I missed two runs already due to a couple of things. I'm going tonight for sure.

Matt...was it a long time? hah hah. Was that when I still had the 55g or when I'd already gotten the 135g? You probably don't remember. I don't either. If we only knew then what we know now!

I love Priscilla to DEATH but I would never have purchased her and I would have kept my 135g. I loved that dang tank...with it's bare bones simplicity...and super low bioload (due to only gobies, a mandarin, and a bicolor blenny).

I hated the gym at first. I really hate working with the weights 2~3 times a week, but figure it is necessary as I get older.

For now, though, I survive the gym because of my headphones and a mix of iPod, FoxNews, Channel 10, and ESPN. Once I lose another 10 pounds and I'll be hitting the roads again. For now, the nice spongy treadmill board is better on my basketball-damaged knees.

12 more lbs for me... :)

Ashley does her long runs Saturday... Did I tell you she joined Team in Training???

It is a fundraising group that helps to sponsor the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society...

They run half and full marathons, triathalons, and century rides...

http://www.teamintraining.org/

Ashley is running the Music City Marathon in April... :D

Oh that's cool! I seriously considered doing the Music City half marathon. Cristina wants me to do that one with her. I wonder if I can still do it. If Ashley's going AND Cristina is going...maybe I'll think about switching. I haven't registered for either one yet.

Is Ashley running the half or the full?

Another thing I would LOVE to do is those century bike rides. My bike isn't really up for it though, honestly.

Ashley is doing the half... They just finished recruiting last week, but its not too late to join...

She's trying to talk me into a full next year...

They tried recruiting me for the bike team... I was like, "You go through 3 states and 100 miles??? How many days??? One!!!!! You've got to be freaking kidding me..."

Edit: Crap in a bag Paul!!!!!!!!! That does look cold...:eek1:

Holy crap Paul!! hah hah.

Randy...send me Ashley's email address so I can ask her about it.

edit: Randy...do you find yourself all kinds of hungry now that you're running a lot??? I can almost NOT control myself when I've run 3 days in a row. Unfortunately, my eating is sabotaging my workouts...by not allowing me to really decrease fat loss. boo.
