Snowflake eel question

I have been looking into adding a snowflake eel (Echidna nebulosa) to my FOWLR set-up. Right now I have a volitan lionfish that is about 8 inches (body size) and a majestic angle that is about 5 to 6 inches.

My concern is whether or not the eel will get along with the angle.

The angle like to hide in the rocks as well . My concern is when the eel is exploring around the tank, he would run into the angle and might nip at him. How realistic is this risk ?

I have a 120 gallon tank with a lot of rocks and would add a lot more cave like structures along the bottom of the tank for the eel to call home. I also have tight fitting glass lids. I know the below picture shows two lionfish, but I had re homed one of them after this picture was taken

I think you would be ok. Once the eel reaches full maturity you may have aggression issues but that is likely years away.

i have a 125 with a snowflake eel, a zebra eel, a dog face puffer, a lunar wrasse and a passer angel. the only issue i ever have is the passer likes to nip the zebra eels tail every once in a while. this setup has been running for almost 5 years

id love to see a pic once you add it to the setup (which looks great btw!) Glad you have a lid as well, they like to jump!

IME, snowflakes have a really bad habit of becoming aggressive once they reach maturity at about 18"-20". I'd say your other fishes would be at risk, particularly the angel.

You've already got a couple of large-bodied lions in the tank, which, once full grown, will take up a good deal of space and filtration resources...I'd leave the eel out.
