I asked the same question a few weeks ago and I'll share some info I got. Make sure the Clowns you add are much larger then the eel. Also Snowflakes are pebble tooth eels, so they will mostly eat inverts so your clowns have a better % of surviving .
That's pretty much what I know and what i expecting. I'm going to give it a go soon for a customer. I just plan on putting a big rbta in there so that should b good protection for the clowns...
I was able to keep a snowflake eel with a small clownfish, but that doesn't mean that i didn't freak occassionally when I didn't see him right away, it is possible though.
i have an 18" snowflake, a tomato clown/ capret combo. no problems...
my eel only eats what i feed him, he is conditioned to feeding from my tweezers. he even lets my shrimp clean his mouth. (i have to get pic of that)
