HEY now!~ It is not uncommon for eels to go on food strikes from time to time especially when being transferred. Find out exactly what foods he was eating prior and continue to do what you are doing, and thats offering early and often! My snowflake just hit his atlantic shrimp for first time since I moved him in a month ago! Now I am saying this knowing that this could also be a serious problem, I just know my eel hates being moved and typically stops eating longest I had experienced was 6 weeks. During this 6 weeks, he was active still, he was remodeling the tank and his pathways, sticking his head out from time to time, and oddly enough he would come out during feedings and I would get all excited and than no dice.. so if your eel is being active not breathing heavily and shows signs of interest around food keep offering.. Try ghost shrimp, try silversides laced in garlic.. try squid, mine loves squid.. mix it up man and you should be ok...

Garlic as aqua man said. It seems to be fish crack. They go nuts for it. I really wouldn't be worried unless you start to see signs of degeneration in the eel itself. He seems to be a good size and as long as he seems normal and not hiding or running from anyone I wouldnt be concerned. Hey I mean I think everyone loves garlic even me

yeah he doesent seem scared or anything, he comes out when i feed, just dont eat, ill keep trying, gotta get hungry sometime, hes still nice and fat, i tried shrimp from publix, and scallops, what else should i try?
my zebra eels eat everything i put in front of him..

I used to hand feed my snowflake live ghost shrimp. held the shrimp by the tail and let them flop around in front of him and he'd go nuts...just watch your fingers!

this might be a dumb question but just chop up some garlic as samll as i can that I get fro the store and add it to the tank or put it on the silver sides?
Thanks Osolow

If your snowflake is still refusing to eat you might want to try live foods like ghost shrimp or mollies. For some eels they will only eat what they can fit in their mouth so make sure the mollies are not too big.

It would be best to buy Garlic Guard. It is a garlic liquid created just for fishies. You soak the food with r/o or tank water for about an hour and your food will stink like garlic :P. You should add enough garlic guard that the water is yellowy colour. I also add selcon to the mix to add vitamins. Any vitamins will be fine as long as it is created for marine fish ^^.

Buy some squid, my snowflakes have never been able to resist fresh squid.
