Snowflake Ocellaris Stopped Eating -- Any Ideas?

Tiny juvie replacement from local breeder. Letting it grow out a bit in a breeder net right now in the DT, hopefully this will also give the current male a little time to start changing sexes and get used to the new fish.

Replacement is the front fish in this pic (either ORA or SA bloodline, breeder mixes his Occelaris clutches in growout):

cute pair!!!

clownfish's have the ablity to change from male to female? I always thought once they changed, they stayed that way.

Arguably they go from

Unsexed --> Male --> Female but many argue it's:

Immature Male --> Male --> Female

but never the other way around, although I believe Trueblackpercula argues that they can go back to Male from female.

Nope, when the female goes, the next *****y, bossy one becomes a female :)

In the wild, Clowns don't live in pairs, there is one big Momma and her legion of male "companions".

If she goes, the next dominant one becomes female, and so on a so fourth, i believe all clowns start out as male or completely unsexed.

Very sorry to hear about the clown (to the OP), i've been following this thread for a few days and was hoping you could her to eat.

new snowflake looks great Ted :)
even resembles the one you lost...nice!

best of luck with this one...
all the best
C :)

Aren't Occys easy? The little guy was eating NLS and Rods like a champ so I let him go into the tank. Not one nip from the established male (remember I lost the female) in the tank and they are already inseparable:
