What are the QT steps most go with.

Separate tank and do a dip /treatment of some sort to ward off any nasties/parasites? Or what?

Since tank will be "pure" I want to keep it this way.

I QT my corals for 2 to 3 months. When I buy or trade a coral I dip in coral RX pro for the recommended dosage and time. Then I will take a jewelers loop and look it over very closely from time to time just to see if there are any signs of pests. One thing I would do if I were you is to do some research on sps pests just to know the life cycle and what to look for and the treatment options available.

Thanks, I have been.
So are most using Coral Rx always as a precaution? QT for a while or just plopping in tank after the coral RX bath?

:spin1:

I use coral rx as a precaution and then it goes in QT and is watched for any signs of pests for the next few months. If pests do show up it will get dipped again.

I get all my corals from trusted LFS's. One of which QT's all fish and corals for 2 weeks before selling, even ORA and FHI stuff. I always dip new corals in Reef Dip for 10-15 minutes then into the tank they go. I did get red bugs once a while back and had to treat the sps. That was a pain. Since I started dipping every coral that goes in my tank I have had no problems.
