So I've decided to get a nem for my oscii...

Bent

I got nothin'
I'm currently looking at getting a nem to host my oscii since he has taken to hosting my overflow and it makes me nervous.

I may just get a BT, but I saw a nice haddoni on DD and I'm really really tempted. Would it be better to get the BTA? I've never tried going for a carpet, but I'm not sure if I want to try my hand, or play it safe.

Oh sorry, some system details would probably be helpful.

Lighting is two 16" reef breeders, and I have no coral at the moment until I figure out what I want to get.

It depends on the size of your clown. I had a small picasso clown that wanted to be hosted by a Haddoni but the anemone's sting was too strong for him. I could see the clown was getting stung every time he touched the anemone. The clown was fairly small at 8 months old. But my larger A. Perculas handled Haddonis fine.
Here's the video of the Haddoni and the clown.

Oh I didn't even think about that. My guy is tiny tiny. I bet he isn't 4 months old. I would guess he's pushing a whopping 1" or less.

There are some really nice rose bubble tips for sale out there. I would get one or two for my clowns but I have heard many stories of Onyx clowns (which is what I have) losing their black color and turning orange. They are beautiful and easier to keep. The only issues I have had with BTAs in the past is them moving around a lot and stinging my sps corals and getting sucked into a powerhead.

Alright looks like a RBTA is on the menu here.

Hopefully the power head won't be a big deal, my RWs are on the back glass up near the top of the water....

Fingers crossed.

I'm maturing my tank at the moment for BTA's in the future. One thing I will be extremely careful about is anemone proofing the powerhead in some way - otherwise you risk the anemone getting shredded. Don't take that risk.

I have two small (1" and 1 1/2") fancy snowflake clowns. I purchased a bta for them. The larger of the two is always in it. The smaller one has never gone in it. It does move around a bit but usually toward the bottom of the rocks. It is a really fun thing to watch the clown and bta.
