I was in the rare group but when I got to the table I justed froze...I had nothing in hand and it was last min. Lucky for me Aleyda suggested I pickup the Flame from hell..so Thanks otherwise I would have had 2 Kenya trees.

I made out like a bandit at the raffle and the swapping was awesome!!! This being my first time, I was very impressed and loved every bit of it. When my frags grow, I will be sure to pay back all the generosity by supplying these swaps with more than I take home. For all of you who do this already, you have my undying gratitude.

I will upload some pics, but here is a short list:
Armor of God zoanthids
Red/green chalice - Thanks Nash!
Devils hand leather
Teal chalice
A huge piece of a nice orange monti cap
Oregon grape monti cap
Green slimer
Bright Green Digi
A large green/blue mushroom
A couple low key zoanthids
A $20 gift certificate to the local LFS - which I traded in for a bright red serpent star

Then onto a fellow reefers house where I picked up:
A nice piece of a 'Superman' monti cap
Another green with blue polyps monti cap
A Tyree green leather
Orange/green acans

We also got to tour the wholesale facility (which they were kind enough to allow me to snap a couple pics). I asked a ton of questions and got great inspiration for an aquculture grow out tank. You BAR folks really did an incredible job and the "bar" has definitely been set in my book. I met some really incredible people who had a wealth of info and advice... all in all an exceptionally awesome day! Jeremy (tuberider) - keep living the dream and thank you for everything!

Sfsuphysics- did you bring there a A. MICRO and a MILLI?

cause I got those with no name but a computer print out with it glued to the cap

you were another person that I wanted to meet as well.. too bad did not get to...

yeah, I brought a BUNCH of micropthalma, every time I cleaned my tank the past month I made a few more frags, and I did bring a few pieces of millepora (one was really small nubs, but they were encrusting) and that came from a blue colony even if it looks browned a bit, see my picture in the rare thread, that's basically what I brought.

Wish it wasn't so hectic, would have been nice to shoot the breeze with lots of you.

Darcy think I briefly saw you during your picking round, blinked, and you were gone, did you cut your hair short?

And was happy to donate my money to the raffle... yet again, although I was able to share the joy of the other helpers near me who won a bunch of prizes *grumble*... oh someone saw me win? Yeah, well yes and no, I did claim a prize, but those weren't my tickets!!! So dave I have your Cali Tort. harumph!

Well lets see, I came with two coolers and left with one.

Table items-

Blue milli
green chalice (looks more blue)
candy cane
brown shroom
blotchy green shroom (itty bitty from vincerama)
Acro unk (very nice)
Acro nana

Raffle-

Acan rotundiflora (from aquatic bliss)
$5.00 gift certificate to Natural Life (barely gas money... anyone from up here go down there?)

It's such a challenge to pick good stuff in the first round, some containers needed to be opened to see the coral, many were inadequately labeled. I wish I would have trolled a little more before the Pamplona effect set in. Overall, I had a good time and am happy with my acquisitions.

Big ups to the "staff", it could have easily turned into a riot, however the staff kept the flow, and Jim is a hard M*F* scaring everyone out at the end of rounds. Thanks guys/gals.

Carpus- that Lavender acro is actually much nicer than the ORA website shows, the polyps on the body/base are yellow. It seems to be a chemeleon when it comes to light.

P.S. I think someone asked the Latin name of Chalice. According to my Corals (Eric Borneman) book, chalice are Oxypora sp.

*** was I thinking?

*** was I thinking?

Well I am sitting here reading this thread in disbelief. I could have sworn the swap was today. LOL. I have some frags if anyone wants them.

Not a lot but I have some orange montipora digitata and another green monti of some sort that was a hitchhiker that grows really well. I will post a pic later to see if someone can ID it.

Would love to trade if possible but I can give away as well.

Actually, I'm pretty mellow and soft spoken in real life. LOL!!
I had a great time and it's always fun to hang out with new and old friends. I'd say that was the best large swap I've seen yet and I hope people weren't too disappointed if their corals weren't "rare".
The volunteers were great and everything seemed to go smoothly.

I got to leave with the only coral I was interested in.
Cheers and thanks to all who came out in the rain! -Jim

Heh heh heh.
Nothing much.......
Black chalice w/ electric red highlights.
BTW, thanks so much ------------!
(won't print your handle cause then Gresham will harass you!)
Karl, you're obviously on the short list for this once I grow it out a bit.
So is Gresham, of course but he wants it yesterday!
LOL!!

Sure, once I get a new camera and clean the algae off some part of the tank to make a viewing window. LOL!
You may actually see it in person before you see it in pics.
