What eats these little punks! i had none yesterday now tones. I have heard six lines but i dont care for those fish much. any suggestions who else has had this problem

what happens when he eats them all does he/she die I have a refugium but i have not seen many pods. my tank was started 7/11/06 and got an import of 90 lbs of uncured rock are the pods carried on that.

Well I have heard that mandarins are hit and miss. I would start siphoning them out, and if they are destroying anything, to consider flatworm exit.

what do the destroy? I have a friend that is siphoning them out and they come back
but more of them! What about a wrasse other then then sixline

Does anyone have experience with a yellow wrasse? I noticed that on liveaquaria.com they list this fish as expert only and do not offer a guarantee. Does anyone know why?

I had them all over my tank about 3 years ago.I would siphon,I tried nudibranchs and wrasses nothing worked.I used flatworm exit and it worked pretty well but they came back again.I gave up and left them alone and they started to thin out and were gone.I havent seen one in 3 years. When I say I had them bad I mean they covered my rocks and sand.I think what happens is they over populate and crash.

Similar to Cosmo^Kramer, I got them and they started to get bad. Then they seemed to thin little by little and now their gone. If I start to see some again I will FW exit them early. I do have a six-line wrasse which some have reported as a fish that will eat them. I dont beleive this is the case with me. Never saw him touch one.

I just found out today what they are. Some suggestion I got as to what eat them were, Longnose Hawk and a Copperbanded butterfly fish. Good luck with yours.

I have a horrible flatworm investestion as well, they cover the sand and some of the rocks, they generally don't go on my corals but when I first noticed them I bought a sixline wrasse and he doesn't seem to like the taste of them. Then I bought a Blue Velvet Nudibranch which was eating them until my powerhead ate him. Last month I just added a mandarin and he doesn't really seem to like them so I am just waiting for their population to crash as well. One thing that I have been thinking about, where either of you running ozone when their populations seemed to diminish?

i am trying the flatworm exit tomorrow. My population is pretty small. I here if you try the flatworm exit with plague type population it can destroy your tank. Is this true. My friend has a millions of them and there sixline seems to leave them alone along with there mandarin.

Lyscer,I wasn't using ozone when they crashed.I never found anything that would eat them.I gave up trying to get rid of them and they just went away..

finnley10,The toxins that the flatworms release when they die all at once can harm your livestock.Read the directions and follow them exactly.Have the carbon and water for the water change ready to go.I had so many die when I used it the water had a red tint to it.I didn't lose any livestock when I used it.I think I ran carbon in a reactor after I dosed also.Be careful and good luck

I had an explosion in my fuge but they didn't get to my display as I have an in-line-return UV. I increased kalk in top-off and cut back on organic (main contributor) input and they were gone after 2-3 weeks.
