Soda Ash

Soda ash, I've never heard of it before. You might want to post this question in the chemistry forum.

BTW, do you have time to hook up after work this week on Thursday or Friday?

Tom,

Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate) they sell it at BRS for $16 a gallon.

They must be make a killing on getting it that cheap.

I use it but i have 1/2 gallon still of Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate). I may need some in 3-5 months.

Just wondering, is it used in the wine or the soil to make the alk go up?

Hmmm I should go over there and watch the video on how to use it.

After watching the video, I think I am going to need to stock up on Soda Ash :D ... Chris .... per....lease set me up ... lol I hate shaking that bottle of baking soda/RO water until my arms fall off trying to mix my alk.

Yea, I kept reading about soda ash and didn't think it was the same thing we use around the winery. That with potasium carbonate is disifectant, then a water rinse, citric rinse, water, iodine, the a final rinse. Soda ash will take the red out of the equipment nutralizing the acid. But for reefs, it can be used for alc and as cheep as it is it might be the way to go. I didn't know if anybody was already using it. Spell check please:hmm3:
