Soft Coral Dominated Tanks... Let's See 'em

here's mine. Its a 215G (72" long). I run a pretty good current so the gorgs are always swaying. Makes it hard to photograph and my camera is crappy anyway.

What can you tell us about your setup? Lights? Filtration?

The display is a 215 Oceanic (Starfire glass). Lighting is four AI Sol Blue LEDs and 2 pair of staggered 54W T5's for additional coverage and color. The basement sump system consists of three 40G breeders and a 75G stock tank all plumbed together. Bare bottom but lots of LR in display and sump system. Octo Extreme 300 skimmer modified with a BB5000 pump, extended neck cup and Swabbie neck cleaner.

I don't feed the corals directly. I have something like 16 wrasse and another half dozen other fish that I feed heavily 3 to 4 times a day and that seems to work.

joejoe1055- the blue ridge does not require much to grow it...its growing under 6x39w t5 with average flow. It started about the size of a nickel in 2004 or 5...around there. It gets white polyps once in a while but for the most part is just kinda flesh color but does grow in neat columns that give a tank a nice natural look. I run the 70t(softy) with just a skimmer and water changes every other week, no additives or dosing of any kind.

Is anyone running leds on their softie tank? I only have a bc29 tank (no pictures yet), and after adding led lighting to it, seems the tank exploded with growth.
