Hello everyone!
so far I got 0 corals in my tank, and I am looking to start with few small once.
I have LEDs light, and good water flow (55 gl tank with 2 HYDRO 600gph).
I start looking at:
-Frogspawn Corals
-Blasto Corals
-Button Polyps
-Zooanthids

For some reason I don't like anemone, not sure why yet...

What do I need to know about those corals?
What they eat? how many times per day?
how much light? (white or blue)
Do I need to buy some boost? like calcium...?
How fast they are growing?

I feel like the guys at the store near me just try to sell me thing I don't need.
If you guys have brands of products that can help me a lot!

thank you!!:reading:

Ricordea mushroom
Pulsating xenia...will need to be kept in its own area so it doesn't take over.
Pineapple tree
Most Cap corals

Your list is good though. Just plan out your color arrangement that you want and where you want it first

What they eat? how many times per day? very fine food, once a week, maybe 2 or 3 times a week at most. They get most of their food from photosynthesis done by algae (zooxanthellae) that live symbiotically inside the coral polyp.

how much light? (white or blue)more blue than white, if I said they need a PAR of 100 to 200 how would you measure it. I assume you don't have a PAR meter? Do you know what PAR is? What make of led fixture do you have and maybe somebody can offer settings.

Do I need to buy some boost? like calcium...? Soft corals don't use much if any calcium or alk, stony corals use both to make hard skeleton. You'll keep those levels OK with water changes until you have more corals in the tank. You need to get Ca, alk and Mg test kits.

How fast they are growing? different corals, different conditions, different growth rates. At first you are going to think they don't grow much at all. give it time and they will grow.

I feel like the guys at the store near me just try to sell me thing I don't need. Very common feeling about most LFS. Google is your friend. Ask questions here, and read, read, read. Keeping a reef is a serious learning experience.
