Softies for 30gal.

I was reccomended by another forum to stick with softies since I have 2x65watt lighting. They reccomended mushrooms and polyps. But I want the RC opinion since its the most accurate . Also if you can, could someone possibly make me a list of softies I am able to get with its specific name instead of Mushrooms. Unless you mean I can get any mushroom then theres no need for specifics:lol: .

Go to www.liveaquaria.com and check out their corals. They are listed in categories - SPS, LPS, Softies, etc. Mushrooms are probably the easiest corals to keep (they are all about the same), a good starter coral. Just pic a color and enjoy. You'll be able to keep just about any softie with your lighting.

I have a colt and a spaghetti leather, a favia, mushrooms, GSP's and Xenia, all are growing nicely with my PC's

65W actinic & 65W 10K Colt grows about a half inch a month. I should have killed it a couple of times, but it seems pretty foolproof. I got the favia(probably misspelled) at Dr Mac's they didn't seem concerned with my light setup, and it seems to be fine...

Right, tis not recommended. They would be better served under intense lighting t5 or MH have the best results that I know of, although I havent witnessed any VHO successfull, but thats not to say there arent many success stories; just havnt seen many VHO only tanks I guess.

Back on topic, I would recommend trying a ricordea yuma, there low light shrooms and the colors are sooo addictive some would argue they need a forum of there own! I'd be a browser!

I have pulsing xenia under PCs. I put them on a tonga branch toward the top. The pulse like mad. And are spreading, if not like wildfire, at least well enough to suit me.

I just got some xenia in my tank. Too soon to tell if they'll spread, but they seem happy enough.

I have the same lights (2x65w PC's) over a 29gal and have been wondering the same thing.. If possible I want to keep Toadstool Leather, Frogspawn, Hammer, etc.. Yeah, I know, they're not all softies.
