Softy tanks.

gorgeous tank, love it, i like softies too, can we see more of the 130 tank, looks really really good

I think that is an awesome tank! We leaning more toward a softie tank because of the movement. At first, I didn't think there would be much option for color until I started paying more attention to other tanks and that looks like the way were going to go!

For the few people who asked about my 130G, click my red house. Theres a thread there :) with LOTS of pics. Updated ones at the end of the thread if you do not want to go through them all.

Well, I am thinking about taking the challange and seting up a 120 softie tank for totm!

What do yuo all think would be keys in this happening? Equipment, livestock, etc...

I have always felt that the sps tanks get the TOTM nods because they often have large price tags attached to them. Another car analogy - we see cars all day long and most you don't even notice; but when you see an expensive car, you definitely notice it. Anyway, that's my feeling on the matter.

I am slowly stocking my 120, and it will mostly be softies. Doubt I will get a TOTM nod, though - no $500 skimmer (just DIY counter-current), no $300 vortecs (just modded MJ's), no expensive custom built cabinetry (again DIY to suit)......I see my tank as a hobby not a trendy fashion statement. I enjoy building things and don't like wasting money.....I am a firm believer in 'function over fashion' (but this philosophy goes over better with the wife if it can be hidden out of sight).

Man was that a soap box rant? Sorry for the meander off topic. Good luck with your 120 Jeremy.....I will tag along on that one. I would say go with a specimens that flow in the current, and then try to achieve a gentle roll throughout the tank. I like the pulsing, pom-pom xenias, and the kenya tree and carnation tree. Well at least that's my plan......
