Sohal Tang

I just got a sohal tang and he's about 4inches. Great looking fish. My Purple didn't like him very much and chase him around for the whole day. I have a 7ft long tank with lots of rocks. Just wondering how long will the picking usually take before the purple gives up on the poor guy?

I dont think you can ever really get a good guess but i would say maybe a couple of days to maybe a week or two. I could be wrong .

Just to let you know I had a Sohal that went from 4" to 8" in 6months and I had to get rid of him at 16" after 2 years, and I have a 8ft tank. So if you grow attached to him it gives you an excuse to get a bigger tank. I have a Purple also and he would pester new introductions for about 2-5 days depending on size.

yeah right now i think the purple is a good 1 inch larger than the sohal. I love both fish.

Yeah, they are mean once established. I had to take one out of a 350g FOWLR tank.

they purple tang will give up on him soon , and then the sohal will be chasing the purple .

FYI, i tried 3 sohals , all smaller than any of my other tangs, and it didn't work.
