I would be real weary of that type of Caulerpa you have growing In your fuge. First off It Is very Invasive and could spread to your main tank, Second It reproduces by going Asexual and will turn your tank Into what looks like someone put Milk In your tank when It reproduces. A better choice would be Cheato that Is a better nutrient exporter and does not have these Issues as the other one has. JFYI as you can do It how you like but I would hate to see you ruin that nice tank due to not being aware of this Issue. Just trying to be helpful with some Info.

... can your tank support both the mandarin in the fuge and the scooter in Solana? Wouldn't they need a ton of pods?

I have to agree. If you have successfully been able to get your mandarin to eat brine shrimp then you are on the right track. Unfortunately, brine shrimp will not sustain them. Brine have virtually no nutritional value. Try to get it to eat cyclopeze. If you can accomplish that then you may keep it alive. Otherwise you are just slowly starving it. I had two of them in my 135 with a 55 gallon fuge, and was only able to keep 1 alive. They require A LOT of pods to sustain them. Good Luck.

Do any of you guys have a BTA in your Solana?
I'm toying with the idea of getting rid of some of my softies and lps and adding more rock for a potential bta. Would give a nice chunk of the lower front of the tank for a bta. This would be after I upgrade my skimmer to a 9002. Tank is currently 8 months old right now.
Opinions?

RBTA in my avatar is in my Solana. It's a little small now, but seems to be pretty happy.

Any of you using an MP10 as the only powerhead source in the 34g Solana? I currently have a Tunze 6025 in the back middle of the tank pointed down to the bottom, as well as the return from the tank. There are some deadspots on the left hand side of my tank that I'd like to address. I have an extra MJ1200, but not sure I want to start putting additional powerheads in the tank. Can an MP10 deliver enough flow for the whole tank? I never thought I'd spend $200 on a powerhead before, but everyone seems to love them.

Cool. How big is it?
I hope to get a small one so it can grow with my clowns who are still pretty small.

You could always mod the shroud on the 6025 to get more flow out of it. That's what I did to mine. I just run the one 6025 for now. Ran two but it was too much flow for my softies and frogspawn so I took one out.
I'd like to eventually get a MP10 though .. Seem like the best solution for flow right now.

RBTA is about 4" across, maybe 5" on a good day. Only room for 1 of the clowns when they're getting down with nestling up in it, and its usually the bigger female. Go figure....

Still deciding on the MP10. They seem to have just come out with a new version and I'm wondering if the "regular" versions will be discounted.

Other than the return pump, my MP10 is my only powerhead. It is more than powerful enough. I point the return outputs to the back corners just to move those areas a little more but since no corals are there it is probably not needed. As is, I have my MP10 turned back quite a bit and I am very please with the movement I see. If money was no object, I'd setup a system of two opposing MP10s linked to get some cross flow.

Haha figures. Big bully female clowns haha
Thanks for the info and help man.

Yea the new driver right? Ecosmart driver or something like that. It would be nice if the regular one was discounted.

I just got the SteviT Cup for my Tunze 9002 skimmer.

I wanted to see if you guys have any advice for how to get it all going? I'm assuming you cut the magnet off (need some advice on how to do that) and then use something like Gorilla 2 part epoxy to glue it back on to the longer side of the skimmer.

Then use the magnet on the back of the tank in chamber 1? Is that it? any advice to make it easier?

I have a RBTA in my tank. I loved it at first, but it has grown so much that it takes up half of the tank. It now measures about 10 inches across and is stinging everything. I will probably try to trade it in for some acros tomorrow. I love these nems, but caution against them in such a smal tank, unless it is the only thing you have in it.

Damn that sucks man.
Why not frag it and get rid of half of it? Keep it in a manageable size. That's what I figured I would try if I got one.

I'm going to try to get rid of some coral to fit it. I'd rather have a pretty bta to make my clowns happy than some of the lps and softies I have. I can be content with only some sps on my upper rocks and zoas on the other side of the tank.

Last night I noticed that my JBJ ATO was not topping off my tank. I playerd with all of the plugs and finally got it to start filling the back chambers. The problem is that it only kept the power to my aqua lifter pump on for about 1 minute. This is not enough time for the aqua lifter to top off the tank. I would think that the ATO would keep the pump on until the the float was high enough to turn it off again. Is my ATO failing? or is this normal for the JBJ?

I have tried to get it to split with no luck. I dont have the nerve to try to cut it to get it to split. Any other ideas on getting it to split on its own?

Na the only way I know of getting it to split is starting to cut it. There might be other ways - could always search it on here or on google and see.

This is a 'safety' feature on the JBJ ATO. I originally had the aqua lifter too for topping off my tank but I switched to a maxi-jet instead as it pumps faster and is able to fill up to my sensor before the time limit is reached.

Thanks, I will have to get a maxi jet.

Hate to spam this info everywhere but it is such great news for NEP 20" owners. Checkout the NEP owner thread or my homepage thread for updated info on the new UVL bulbs. I place my pre order this evening. :)
