Sonic; yes, that's the logo. The newer (Starphire) Solana aquariums also have a 1'' recessed cut in the back glass pane for cords.

The good news: if you put both Solana aquariums together, you'd have a hard time noticing any differences between the glass clarity. JMO

I have Euro-Reef nano for the Solana and love it! Yes it does stick out of the top but I really dont care... I wanted a good skimmer and thats why I got it and all of my past ER have been awesome.

Euro Reef and the Nano Reef Systems are now divided... and Nano Reef makes the skimmer for the Solana...

thanks for the input, yea i dont mind how it stick out either !! has your EUROreef ever over flowed onto the floor?

i want the deltec so bad LOL but its just WILDLY expensive. Anyone know if i were to use it as a hang on back does it overflow into itself in the case of the bubble level being out of wack or all onto the floor?

this might be a crazy question LOL but i find the new LED lights very interesting but I feel like they arent "real light" but since emision of light is just an electron falling back to its previous shell after being excited via heat electricity exc...i guess it is a very real form of light ray so to say haha

but what would something like this do over a 34 gal solana ?

It has over-flowed and since it's in the first chamber none of the water goes outside the tank... So no issues with it spilling over the sides from what I can tell... and I have had it over-flow on more than one occasion..

Deltec's are killer and so is there cost!

Hey guys, time to change the bulb in my disco ball fixture. How do you get off the plexi shield?

Edit: Got it - just had to use a screwdriver to pry off the ring.

Anyone else getting sump envy?
In the process of setting up my 7.5G build with a sump, I'm really starting to get tired of the AIO on the Solana.

Kinda considering upgrading or ripping out the back chambers and putting in an overflow in the spring.

I'm never satisfied lol :o

BIG TIME! This AIO was such a good idea on paper until I got some practical experience with it.

I will be either removing the false wall and drilling or buying that Cadlights Pro 39 Tank with sump. I've also been dabbling with the idea of upgrading to the Solana 60 gallon 24" Cube.

Right now I am dissatisfied with my whole setup. I don't like the LED lights and I don't like the AIO.

The only thing that came good out of this was the implementation of Vortech's over the old closed loop with an Oceans Motions device.

At least I'm not the only one haha

I'm really thinking about removing the false wall. Seems like a cheaper solution than buying a whole new tank.

I love the CAD 39 and CAD 50. They look like amazing tanks. Same with the Solana 60 cube. I just dont know if a full upgrade like that is in the cards for me right now. I have considered getting a 40 breeder and drilling it for an overflow considering those can be had for dirt cheap.

What dont you like about the LEDs? What unit do you have again? I'm doing a DIY LED light for my 7.5g but I'm not sure on the specs of the design yet. Still torn on how many LEDs to do.

hello all. My fiance got me a solana for christmas! I will be setting it up over the next few days. i will be making a build thread. Just a quick question ive seen a few different filter pad solutions people are using because the stock ones clog quickly. What do you guys reccomend for this problem?

Congrats and welcome fla_tony! I still really like the marineland filter pads. They fit into the second chamber nicely, they don't clog easy, have an overflow incase of clogging, and they have activated carbon in them. If you changed them once a month, It'd cost your $20 a year. If you changed them twice a month, It'd be 40 a year. As long as you don't mod the 2nd chamber, They are a great solution.

Thank you! Im planning on running as much of a fuge as I can in camber two. I was wondering if someone could possible post pics of that. I saw a few when I read through the whole thread a few weeks ago but can't remember where they are. I've tried searching as well but can't find anything.

Good Price?

Good Price?

Hey all,

I currently have a Finnex 30M, and would like a second tank. I saw a Solana 34 at the LFS they would like to get rid of. It has a small scratch on the side glass, but is new and otherwise undamaged. They are asking $329 for tank and stand without a light fixture (which is great because I have one I am not currently using.) I am having trouble finding a price for tank and stand only. Does this seem to be a reasonable deal? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Dan
