I put a Vortech MP20 in mine and it does great with the flow. Plus you can control the intensity of the flow and make it pulse for wave action.

I changed out my return pump with a Quiet One 2200 and a 1/2" Sea Swirl. Lots of great flow--very happy with the results.

Well I just finished catching up. My 75gl perished a few months ago from a weather phenomena keeping me away from the house and power out for 5 days. I was stead fast to get reimbursed for all the live stock. Well instead i took all the money and downsized to the solana with the 150w sunpod. I have had problems with the skimmer and over all flow. I just added an air valve to the stock skimmer air intake line and am starting to get much better results. One koralia 1 in tank with a nono on its way. I have also been in the process of modifying a older Amiracle hob skimmer unit to act as my fuge. Well any way just wanted to really thank all of you for the helpful ideas, seeing all the beautiful aquariums gives me hope.

I'm getting a Solana from a friend soon. However, he broke the glass top. I have to have a top as my clownfish jumps a lot while he sleeps at the top of the tank. So should I have another glass top cut or get some egg crate? Another other suggestions?

if doing a top do egg crates arewire screening...the glass one traps the heat ing and is covered in condensation from the evaporation.

My solana is still not set up yet but I found great deals on some used items - a Tunze osmolator and a Tunze DOC 9002. Don't tell my wife, yet. Now, to get the cube collection cup...

Oh, was it decided - will the 9002 fit in the 1st chamber even with the magnet attached or is it only needing to be removed for 2nd chamber installation?

For those of you who "modded" the glass window on the stand, how/what did you do to it. I know alot of people tinted it, but I also saw someone did a cool frosted look to it. Lets see some pics and how-to's! I hate it being clear glass.

I second this! I have my MP20 controller in there and it is very bright when im trying to fall asleep.. I actualy enjoy the sound the return pump,MP20 & skimmer... its the light that prevents me from sleeping! (my Solana is right next to my bed)

You can leave the magnet where it is if you are using it in the 2nd chamber.

For the first chamber, if you leave the magnet where it is, the lip in the second chamber get's in the way of the other half of the magnet. I had it mounted like this for a while and I never really could get the skimmer in the right position with it there. Nor could I use the upper drip plate in the second chamber (which I use a lid for the refugium I have there). If you have a rotary tool it's not too hard to just cut off the magnet and epoxy it to the side (then you can just mount it on the glass and it is really easy to position it).

Found it, it was on like page 25 of the search page on Nanoreef. I'm gunna message the guy and see how he did it, I can also post a link although I'm not sure if its ok with the rules. To clarify, this is not my tank or stand just one I like and want to replicate.
