It has changed since these pics with the added sps and the torch was split in two and the one anemone is gone they were traded for the sps.

Thanks, i will try and get some new pics i just got the Pheonix 14k bulb and it definitely puts out a lot more light than the stock bulb also colors things up a lot better. I seem to get more coverage all over the tank with the new bulb and the bluer color makes a world of difference.

I love the tank but i want to upgrade everday i am running out of room, i think i just need to scale back on some of the sps and put a couple more pieces of Lps in the tank. My rbta is not making it any easier.

has anyone upgraded the skimmer other than the Tunze? I dont want to mod the back or remove the magnet from the skimmer.

Sounds like the RBTA needs it's own tank ;)

Hey has anyone ever hooked up an AquaC Remora Skimmer with the 1200 Maxijet.(On the Solana)If so how did you do it?

I had an Aqua Remora on mine for awhile. Just use a longer hose to drop the MJ1200 down. The tough part is cutting the waterfall noise. I used a mesh bag attached to the output--it did quiet it down and caught quite a bit of detritus.

Anyone used to have current stock bulb from solana orb light and change to phoenix light bulb or anyother bulbs? is the phoenix more blue then current?
I don't think the stock bulb is enough blue for me.

Pics would be awesome. Thanks.

The phoenix is a MUCH better bulb. The stock bulb is way to yellowish for my taste.

No pics, but I have used Phoenix for years and you will NOT be disappointed.

I too just upgraded to the Phoenix last week looks a lot better was gone for 5 days so will have to reevaluate since the burn in but looked great before a lot bluer.

I just fired up my Phoenix 14k with an icecap electronic 250w ballast. In a Lumen bright reflector over the solana it directs it straight down into the tank. I will try to get some pics tonight. So far it looks great.

Here are the pics a couple days after adding the 14k phoenix bulb 150w in the orb fixture. I like the color a lot better on this bulb a lot more blue but i think it put out more light at the same time. More of the tank seems to be lit up and after being gone for 5 days all the corals especially the sps showed a lot of new growth.

This pic i believe is with the cameras flash on
