Kudos to DF&S and there Customer Service... they are highly recommend !!!

So guys, I was playing around with the skimmer, and the pump on it sucks. The design is not bad, but the pump needs to be changed .

Have any of you upgraded the pumps on the skimmers ?

What pump is used for the Tunze 9002 ?

I think the tunze pump is a maxijet 1000...

I had an Aqua Remora on mine for awhile. Just use a longer hose to drop the MJ1200 down. The tough part is cutting the waterfall noise. I used a mesh bag attached to the output--it did quiet it down and caught quite a bit of detritus.

How do you think adding a filter sock would work out? I like the remora option the most, I really want to find a way to make it work.

Skimmer is sitting in a sump , I will reduce the length of the clear tube so the venturi sits under the skimmer.

Skimmer looks like it's pulling a constant 1/2 water 1/2 air mixture... and is pretty silent.
