Solar 1000 vs Aquacontroller II

I am looking at both the AquaController II and the Solar 1000. Seems like you can get very similar features with both plus the Solar 1000 has the added advantage of dimming the VHO's.

Are these really comparable products?

I like the idea of dimmable VHO's but with three 250 DE MH coming on after them not sure its worth it if the AquaController is really a better product.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Mickey,

I do not have much personal experience with these products, but i would lean toward Neptune Aquacontroller, they are the leader in that type of technology and really offer better technical support if you need it.

The dim option is nice, but has some drawbacks. Seems most URI bulbs will only dim 50% and sometimes flicker on and off. Some other brand VHO's might dim 100%, but we prefer the URI brand bulb.
