Solar Flare Angel

What don't you get?

It is an extremely rare color variant of C. loriculus, missing almost all of the black pigmentation. Many people will like regular flame angels more, but for someone who is looking for a truly one of a kind specimen with a very neat story behind it, this is a perfect fish.

Lets make a deal. You share the story behind this angel, and I'll post some video and lots of pictures for everyone.

How can you be certain it is genetic melanism? It was my understanding that many melanistic fish revert to their regular colors in captivity. Beautiful fish btw.

Nothing is 100% certain in life, but I trust Live Aquaria and their staff's assessment of the fish and have no reason to doubt them. Jschultz my favorite store in the Twin Cities is Saltwater Empire.

I too thought about buying that fish, But my current state of having a few too many angels that peacefully exist as of right now, and my 60 hour a week job made me think twice. Congrats on the pick up, I too see beauty in the rarity of a fish.. not the flashiness of it.

It's my fish but Chad offered to take videos and pictures since neither are my strong suit. Only one of the 2 juvenile flames that are in the QT along with the Solar flare appeared in the video, but all 3 fish are doing extremely well.

the fish is looking really great...and the silhouette of stripes is making it more beautiful..
