Only had them maybe 4-6 weeks.

I have no problem posting pics but you will immediately still say it's too blue. My camera seems to pick up on the blue and even intensify it more. I haven't been able to figure out how to set my camera to get the color rendition that I see with my eyes into photos yet. I'm still playing with it. I'll see what I can dig up for posting.

That doesn't see to blue. It's blue but not TOO blue, less than what some 20k's look like. My camera does the same thing and my pics come out like your pics, so i'll assume in person it looks fairly similar to my lights.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not against these at all. If they were nice, i would definitely consider them. I was just saying that the ones at BA's were HORRIBLE. I dont think anyone that has seen them there will deny that. Maybe they have a bad one or set up wrong or whatever.

YOURS, i actually like the look of(still not sure i would pay what they want though!) What lights did you have before and can you tell yet if your corals are doing better, worse or the same as before?

I can't compare coral growth for several reasons. Lights before were PC's and VHO's with mainly softie tanks. This new system will be a mixed reef. Only had one SPS prior to this and it was in a smaller system with a MH on it. This tank is only a couple of months old now and not really stocked yet except for some softies I kept. I'm looking at frag paks now to seed the top portion of the tank. Too bad I was out of town for the frag swap.

I'm heading out of town again for the rest of the week but after that, feel free to stop by and see what they look like in person.

I ended up finding the lights online for cheaper than most sites advertise them for. My 48" ended up being $1880 delivered.

Cool, thanks, i actually may take you up on that offer. I could even bring you a sps frag to get ya started.

After the frag swap I went to Big Al's to get some food and take my usual look around. I also saw the light and was not impressed at all. The thing is the tank looks like crap, and I dont think its the lights fault. I have seen the light on other tanks and they looked amazing. IMO, the setup was poor example of the light. About 2-3 months after the store opened there was a serious decline in the overall quality of there marine setups, and i think this is a product of it. they stripped that display of some amazing corals, and threw the light on there...and then they dont even know how to use it correctly. In the next 2-3 years it will be interesting to see what kind of prices these sell for. I think the technology is great, even as it is right now. JUST NOT AT BIG AL's!!!

I (might) be getting rid of my 48" version if I can't work out a swap with PFO. Since my tank is 30" deep it really needs the H series rather than the G series unit. The H series units are already back ordered into late Sep from what I understand though.
