Soldering fine electronics?..

Does anybody know anyone or does anybody have experience soldering fine electronics? I'm talking fine as in soldering four wires to a computer logic board? Or advice? Thanks.

Good luck, they use non conductive separators for those and computer aided robotics.

Get someone to do it for you. doubtful they will warranty it.

What is it for?

Its just like soldering anything else.. Same rules apply. Just a smaller scale.

Small tip..small diameter solder.. move quick but ensure you get a good bond.

I was certified in the Navy to do soldering. I did circuit board repair for a living.
You need flux and a adjustable temp soldering iron. An I steady hand.

Agreed.. Small tip, flux, steady hand but it also helps to have a good illuminated magnifying glass on a stand. I/We do a lot of very precise fine soldering here at my business and the magnifying glass helps a lot. So does one of those little free standing clip holder things.

You and me both. 2M repair...... Still have that card somewhere.

To the OP, all of the above suggestions, and ensure you use magnify glasses/reading glasses and lots of light to help.

I took apart a MacBook to replace the optical drive with a data doubler, but when I used my splunger to disconnect the subwoofer / right speaker wire from the logic board as instructed on ifixit I came to know that I has actually busted off a soldered connection. There was no connector there at all as Apple apparently did not use an actual connector for the early production of this particular model. I was doing this work for my sister. I have pointed out the location on the logic board with my splunger.

I don't have steady hands! Lol... My hands shake no matter what. Anybody in the desmoines Iowa / northern Illinois area?

Try a finger rest, use your thumb and first two fingers to hold the soldering iron, and rest the last two fingers on something stable. Should be make it far easier unless you have Parkinson's lol.
