Well, went to a fish store. They told me on the phone they had wild caught true percs from Solomon Islands. When I got there they turned out to be NOT from SI...but Indonesia. On a good note they had a nice mag anemone I picked up.

This is gig.......for me.......

I have some doubts about the extension of Amphiprion percula geographic range..............

I don´t know exactly where their occurrence stops...........

I found some pictures from Raja Ampat............Papua Indonesia.....

The fishes founded there looks like Amphiprion ocellaris to me...........

These Images are from Raja Ampat...........Indonesia..........

And I believe that they are Amphiprion ocellaris...........

I don´t know the exact place where Amphiprion percula occurrence stops......

In Madang..........the fish is Amphiprion percula.........I saw few pictures of True Percula from Madang...........

Maybe they occours a little bit to the North............something between Madang and Raja Ampat..............

But I don´t know where Amphiprion percula and Amphiprion ocellaris are separated............

I think that the fishes from Raja Ampat are Amphiprion ocellaris..........

???

I found a pic from Cenderawasih Bay.............and it is Amphiprion percula...........True Percula........

picture.php

Source : http://www.coralcoe.org.au/news/car...ns/attachment/cenderawasih-bay-indonesia-2006

I think that this is the divisor between Amphiprion percula and Amphiprion ocellaris.......................the region of Cenderawasih Bay..........at North West Papua Indonesia..........

Cenderawasih Bay have Amphiprion percula...........and Raja Ampat have Amphiprion ocellaris...........

Bali region is an important Indonesian Throughflow passage............even due Last Glacial Era.............

The flow came through Makassar Strait.......till Lombook Strait......between Bali and Lombook................................and this region the fish is Amphiprion ocellaris............

Something like the Ocellaris from Singapore..............

Maybe few fishes show signs of Melanism............

Here are few exemples of how Melanism appears in Amphiprion ocellaris.........from Malaysia region........

Amphiprion ocellaris......from Perhenthian Islands........Malaysia.......

They do not show complete Melanism the same way that are founded in Darwin - Australia ( Black Ocellaris).........that seems to have a Genetic issue too............

They show a kind of more subtle Melanism.............linked with Stichodactyla gigantea............

But about True Percs........I never see a single Image from Bali.............

What I saw is Amphiprion ocellaris............

This Image is from Bali.........look at the Volcanic Substrate..........

Solomon Islands True Percula Info Needed

I kid you not the store had that melanistic (not Darwin) ocellaris. It was a misbar and large enough to be an adult with full adult coloration. I wish I had taken a picture.

This is very intresting.........and seems to be a rare stuff.............

There is no information about this Percula population from Bali.....

Totally new to me.................

I like them..........

They look like Perculas...........but a close inspection gonna be cool.........specially Dorsal Spines count.............

Not sure exactly how Bali Aquarich is set up for breeding, but it might be an escaped specimen or the result of a larvae actually surviving?

I don´t know...........this information is totally new to me............

All pictures I saw that came from Bali...........is about Amphiprion ocellaris........

To say that Amphiprion percula geographic range includes Bali...........a breeding population must be founded............in the wild.........

The Youtube video......show 2 fishes with similar apparence..........if they were wild caught in Bali Island.........there is the possibility to find a breeding population in the wild..........

I don´t know..........let´s wait and see if more information come up.......

More pictures.............

I will try to dig.........

The true percula I saw at the store yesterday did not look good. Many were lethargic and had a couple white spots here and there.
