Solution to Banded Shrimp becoming aggressive?

hey all, i was wondering if there was a solution to my Coral Banded shrimp becoming aggressive... he's definitely going after my fish, and although i'm positive he won't be able to catch the wrasse, he's come pretty close to getting ahold of the tail of my cardinal.

he's chasing them now, so i know it's not territoriality... if i step up his feeding, do you think this might help? or any other ideas... i'm close to done with setting up a 25 gallon in my office room, i was planning on moving him in there, to a tank with him, and probably a damsel or some other fish i know he wouldn't be able to catch, but that won't be up for another month at least.

thanks!
Charlie

Sorry to tell you they are aggressive. You can either fiqure he will eventually catch and kill a fish or trade back to the lfs.

Mine killed 40 snails there was a place where he stayed all the time i looked in there one day and there was a mountain of shells from my snails i even saw him grab some off the rocks and eat them so i traded it in and i will never get one again.

Hi moggy.

Good ill pm you so we dont hijack his thread.

BTW Charlie97L do you have a white coral banded or a golden coral banded because i was told that a golden is better to keep since they will not grow as large if yours is a white banded you might want to trade it for a golden.

Agreed with their aggression. Mine was a soft polyp buster! I had to trap it and move it out of my reef cause it was causing too much coral/invert casualties.

well, she seems to have calmed down with the target feeding, but i think i'm going to toss her in my sps tank that i just set up this weekend. i think she just wasn't getting enough food, and that's my fault, really.

none of my lfs's around here really do exchanges, they'll take "donations" though. i have a white/purple/red/blue one.

any suggestions on a good fish tankmate for her in a 20 gallon? maybe a damsel or dottyback?
