I wanted to share a few cool things I saw at MACNA.
1) D-D NanoScope - this thing is way cool. Sucitons to the glass and is basically a microscope for tanks. It has both an 8x magnification lens bringing things right into your eye, or for things right up by the glass a 48x Macro lens. http://www.theaquariumsolution.com/products-type/nanoscope
2) Reef Gently Acclimate pro-XL - This thing does quadruple duty as a fish/coral acclimation chamber, isolation chamber, fish trap, and transport box. I got one donated to the club which I will be giving to Zef when I see him. www.reefgently.com
3) EcoExotics LED lights - they have really progressed well beyond the Panoramic and Stunner series. they now have 50 and 100W spots that look very promising for highlighting tanks and alternatives to MH for those looking for something different.
4) Tropic Marin Eliminators - Basically a small cartridge GFO or Carbon unit. A little pricey, but well suited for small applications unlike the BRS reactors.
There were other really cool and spendy things, like skimmers, fluidized reactors, all sorts of lighting that we have all seen before, and of course reps from all the product companies.
I made out like a bandit in Swag, including two 225 gallon buckets of salt from SeaChem, a boatload of Nitrate reducers from Microbe-lift, samples from Kent Marine, 2 beautiful flat rocks both 20+ pounds each, and chatchkies.
We also ran into some folks from our own swap and club. Dirk, CJ, Rhett, Harry, Chris from Cherry Corals too. All in all a really fun time.
