3x250W Ushio 14K's and 2x165W VHO actinics. MH's are on 9 hrs a day, and actinics are on 12 hrs a day.

You just solved my eternal lighting dilemma!

I was hesitating between Ushio14K, Reeflux 12K or AquaConnect14K...

I really like what I see in your pics, bright white with a hint of blue and good coloration and fluorescence of corals....

I have stupid question. Does 3x250w mean you have a total of 750w or does it mean you have 3 lamps for a total of 250w?

It's DE bulbs for a total of 750 Watts. I used to have Hamilton 10k's, but it was too yellow, even w/ my vho actinics on, so I switched to the ushio 14k's. I think it's a perfect balance when supplemented w/ the VHO actinics.

Hows the Tunzes working out now?

they are working great. I mounted them on my rockwork and hid them by rocks as well, so you can't even tell there's two tunzes in the tank. I want to buy a third one, but not a 6100. This one will be tough to hide though.


Or perhaps I may get the Red Sea Wavemaker w/ a few smaller sized powerheads. j They are easier to hide.
