some kind of snail under my clams mantel.

Look at night

When I had snails I was able to see them at night. The mantle of my clam was peeled back so that the tiny snails were exposed. There were also snails on the shell and the byssal filaments attatching the shell to the rock. I guess what I am saying is that I was able to see the snails while they were attacking. I'm not sure if everyone has had the same experiences that I have had. Hope this helped.

greenfroggiespawn: It's still in the best interest that you give the clam a really close inspection some night....you don't want to wait until you can see the clam suffering to find them.

i cked a few hours at night, id idnt' see any snail shpaed things or anything.. i saw tiny calcerous tube worms though, but nothing of that of any snails..i honestly think that if it would be bad, the clam woulnd't be so good in growing and what not.. but thanks i continuely would check the other side and keep an eye..

THE prymid snails that were on my Squamosa that die, were not visable. but they were visable on my crocea calm. I used tooth brush to brush them off the crocea,. Hoiwever the snails may have gotten inside the squamosa and eat it out. By the time I knew about them, it was too late.

From what ive read maybe i took it different or whatever but so if there is none of these snails in the tank now or on the clam now there wont be unless it is brought into your tank?

LOOK for sign of stress from your clam. It is mention that the partnerships between these two are unyielding. If you got calms, you will more than like will have pyramid snails. View your clams at night and when a snail appears. Just take the proper precaution to remove them. Good luck
