They really are a pretty angel, I'm glad I got him. Now I just hope he eats!
This picture pretty much sold me on a scibble. I have always found them beautiful, but this picture really makes me want one.

The scrib is gorgeous, but for me, that emperor wins hands down. I'd pick the orange tail over the scrib any day! So did you try the pellets Recty? Any luck with him eating anything?

The achilles tang is doing great. Although I cant say it was the right choice 100% for putting him into the DT with ich, I think for him it was a lifesaver, he was acting very unhappy in a small QT tank and I hadnt even started treating with copper yet.
He swims all over the tank now, grazing on the rocks and just being a good fish. No aggression towards anyone at all either, which is good. The dussumieri tang bossed him around for a couple days but now they swim around and totally ignore each other, it's a cool show

It's hard to choose between the angels, both are gorgeous in their own way
And no, he isnt eating anything. I dropped another fresh half clam in there today and he has no interest. I fed a couple pellets yesterday but again, no interest in those either.
I think I goofed with this dude as far as putting him into the main tank and not leaving him in a QT tank to get used to captive life better. I figured coming from Diver's Den that he would be a model citizen, but he seems still really scared of me and living in a tank in general. I'm tempted to pull him out and put him into QT, but I think the eggcrate trick is working just as well. It's a little harder to spot feed him now than it would be in a QT, but oh well.
On a side note, I'm having a slight ammonia problem. There was some algae on my rocks that I think is dying off and I dont think my bacteria colonies are functioning as good until they get used to the low salinity. I thought my fish were acting a little weird yesterday so checked the ammonia and sure enough, 0.25 was the rating. Not good. The water has turned a little white and cloudy which I assume is bacterial bloom, so I did a couple big water changes and put in the ammonia neutralizing product Aqueon makes, but I'm a little irritated

So the wrasse is gone? I just now noticed from your sig. Your considering getting rid of your last two triggers and going with 3 more angels? Man, your addicted! Didn't take long! Welcome to the club! What angels are you considering? Your in my boat, need to buy a house so you can upgrade to a huge angelfish tank!

Recty, one final suggestion for food for the Scribbled would be scallops. You don't have to get sea, bays will do fine. Just dice them up into about jumbo pellet piece sizes and feed. I would try at first without soaking them in zoecon/garlic. I noticed some butterflies I had were actually turned off by them. Then if he eats then soak the scallops.

Yeah, the wrasse is gone. He got beat up pretty badly one day and never really recovered. His jaw was broken and crooked, but healed and he ate well afterwards so I wasnt too worried about it, but I think it was the beginning of the end for him. He started swimming weirder and weirder.
It was a rescue case anyway, he was traded in to the LFS for basically nothing, was in bad shape already, had gashes down his side and wasnt doing good. I took him in and healed him up and he was doing good for a while.
Anyway, he died about 2 months ago. I didnt see him for a couple days so I started looking around for a dead wrasse body and found him stuck in a rock, looking really nasty. There was a small hole all the way through a rock and he jammed himself down into there. His tail was sticking out one side and his head was sticking out the other. I took a picture of it because it almost looked comical, in a weird way.
Poor guy had a rough life, but the last portion of it was pretty good for him I think.
Yes, I am considering getting rid of my last two triggers, but I'm still considering at this point, not sure what I'm going to do. If they go to a good home I'd be fine with seeing them go They are cool fish, but I'm like addicted to angels.

They are cool fish, but I'm like addicted to angels.Angels are sweet, but when they don't all get along it sucks. I've had to move an emp, a majestic and a mac at different times. That emp was my first good sized one and it was a punk to something, hard to remember, but the act of catching it and moving it to the garage tank over did it and it was dead in the morning.
Currently, my blueface is a punk to the emp and keeps the emp pretty well confined to an area. But if I go and pull the blueface and get a different angel, my odds are that the emp will boss it and keep the other angel confined, so it just a big circle. But you never know until you try.

Yeah for sure, triggers actually seem to get along better than angels, you always hear about triggers being such mean fish and how horrible they are as tankmates, but I've got some real good sized ones and dont have problems.
I do hear a lot about territorial angels though, so I'm sure I'm in for a little trouble. My thoughts on the matter are once there gets to be 5-6 angels in the tank, instead of two, there will be a lot more fish to pass the aggression and territory claiming around, which should make things better
We will see, I still dont know what I'm doing.

Nope, no eating yet. I called Live Aquaria yesterday and talked to them for a while.
They think I should try Pavlov's training technique, which basically means provide some sort of signal that I'm going to be feeding.
They suggested running the tank with no lights to lessen stress, then turning the lights on, feeding, then turning them back off. Hopefully this indicates to the fish that when the lights come on, food is coming. So far, no luck, but it's only been a day.
They were only feeding mysis, brine, nori strips and Formula 1 pellets, all of which I've tried now with no luck. I'll just have to keep trying.
No idea on what angels are next, it depends if I do really end up getting rid of my two triggers or not.
