Some new fish...

I think, THINK, it might actually be a little better. I havent even bothered trying to feed while letting it sit in the Furan 2, what little biological filter I had going is killed off by the Furan and I figure the less stress the better, so I havent been going in there except to do the nightly 25% water changes.

Anyway, to me the bump is actually looking a little smaller. So I put in carbon just an hour ago and did a 40% water change. The water is still pretty yellow, but within a day or two it should clear up. I'll probably try feeding a little either tonight or else tomorrow afternoon, just depending.

I put the goldflake up into the main tank from the sump today :) He is hiding, but looks like he likes the rock layout ;) It's actually a relief almost, to not have triggers. I plan on getting a couple smaller angels, around the size of the goldflake, maybe an inch bigger, and it's great to know they arent going to get one shotted by the niger.

Glad to see the scrib might be on the track to getting better. Nice to have the GF in the display! So what other angels are going in there? Come on! Spill it!!!!

To be honest, I dont really know yet.... I'm still thinking about the stocking list.

Suggestions welcome ;)

Thats great that you think the Scribble is doing better. Did you end up taking the triggers back to the LFS?

"Suggestions welcome:) " There are so many beautiful angelfish its hard to pick the best ones but, I think a Chrysurus Angelfish would look spectacular with your other fish. Or some others that I realy like: Passer Angel or a Maculosus Angel.

Just the fact that the Scribbled is still alive is a good thing. Is he still as alert as when he arrived?

Recty without triggers....Hmmmm. :eek1:

That's the great thing about this hobby, though, you never know where it'll take you, and the possibilities are endless.

I think a Chrysurus is a great suggestion! Would definitely go well with the rarer angels you have Recty. I wouldn't suggest a passer or mac. Since I have owned a mac, and currently have a passer. Passers are way too aggressive! Macs are pretty aggressive but also get huge! I still like the small queen idea, the little queens I have had, none were aggressive. The 5" one I have now has her moments mainly of just pushing the french out of her way (must be an angel thing) but she still minds her own business.

So you did get rid of the triggers? Last I heard you were thinking about it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the scribbled. I'm really hoping it pulls through.

Did the goldflake start eating your mix? You've gotta post some pictures of it in the main tank. Even just to see how tiny it is compared to the other guys :).

I've thought about the Chrysurus angels, I dont know why though but they just dont do it for me. They look like a large juvenile Koran angel, to me :)

Yes, the triggers are all gone. I'm triggerless. I'm sure I'll eventually end up with a crosshatch :P

I sold them to Chugalug, a local woman who also posts on these boards. She will take good care of them, she is more aquarium nutty than I am even ;)

Right now the goldflake is hiding a lot. The achilles doesnt like it much, so when the goldflake comes out he gets chased back into the rocks. I'll let this happen for a while as no damage is being done and the goldflake is eating, but if the achilles keeps it up he is going to be thrown into timeout for a while.

I agree that a Passer would probably be too agressive, but I love their coloration, very similar to Clarions. Don't Queen Angels get just as big, if not bigger than Maculosus Angels? Also in my experience my Queen was much more agressive than my Mac angel, but I guess every fish is different.

The ole fish flip flop......I hate doing that. But I always end up making a better rock configuration though!

Any word on the scribbled?

Yeah, passers are down right mean! IMO they are a lot different looking then clarions though. I'd love a juvi clarion, but that is way outta my budget! Macs do get huge, same with queens. Both are very aggressive once older. But I feel that if you get a small queen, it won't be that bad. My brother had a 5-6" mac that was a bully! A lot worse than my 5" queen now. If I had a choice between mac and queen, thats a no brainer. I think both fish have very similar characteristics. Plus he already has pomocanthus angelfish, no holocanthus though :)

Hah, isnt it funny? I have the same thing too, every fish I get I end up rearranging the rock work to either catch an old fish or disrupt territories... and I almost always like it better the way I have it after it's all said and done.

No real progress on the scribbled. Today I added some pellets, nothing. I added mysis soaked in garlic, nothing. I added nori that had been soaked in garlic, nothing.

I've got a half clam I'm going to add here in a little bit, but I expect nothing, gotta try though.

The bump has gone down a little bit, imo, but still is a definite large bump. I think I might buy another dose of Furan 2 tomorrow and start it all over again, but this time I'm also going to dose Prazipro.

If I got a passer, I'd get a little one. I'd rather get a clarion though ;)

Actually, if I get a holocanthus genus I'll get a queen. They had a nice little one in at a local Petco I went to today, I thought about rescuing it as it already has ich and looks about half dead plus I want to perfect my QT and that would be a good chance, but I hate helping out Petco and keeping them ordering more fish.

Yeah, queens are cheaper and more readily available. What size are you looking at getting? I am considering adding another angel in the next month or so, but I am taking the gf skydiving for her bday this month so that taps into my fish funds :( $400 would have been a nice cxi emperor.

I think I'm getting small angels from now on, nothing that will immediately fight with my emperor. I'll let him be the boss of the tank with smaller angels all around.

I'd probably get a 3-4" queen, a 3-4" blueface and then maybe even a small passer, hopefully if starting small it wont be too aggressive but who knows? I'll probably skip on the passer but I do like them.

And then maybe I'm done for a while ;) I cant really think of another easily found affordable angel that I want, so I'll probably just start saving up some fish money :)

Done for a while.......famous last words! I was done too, about 6 different times.

What I think is key for multiple angels, lots of caves and cracks to swim through. Angels love the rock, going upside down to peck at it, going under it....seems to be the key not to force them into the same open area.

So 5-6 angels huh? I think your right about the emp, they need to be the boss to thrive I feel, so having him the biggest, will be best. I'd love a blueface as well, but don't see it fitting in with my setup. I'm considering when I upgrade FO tanks, turning my 210g into a angel reef, with angels like a regal, goldflake, blueface, chrysurus, scribbled etc (not all of them obviously, just ideas). Man, angelfish are so addicting. I should just go buy 150 or so buckets of salt and turn my parents pool into an angelfish lagoon :)

How much do queens normally run outside Florida? They are pretty cheap here, but wasn't sure what they ran everywhere else. How long do you think a queen would be good in a 120? If I can keep it for a few years I might get one, but not if I can only keep it for 6 months.

It all depends on the size. You could keep one in a 120g if you got a small one (2"). I had a 2" queen before I got my current one, I could imagine you could have kept her for at least a year in a 120g. Depends on other fish, stocking, amount of rock etc as well, also feeding has a big role too. I get my caribbean fish straight from the divers, so I get it pretty cheap, probably as cheap as you but I just have to pay shipping.
