I just noticed the regal is an indo? Sorry about the meredithi, I'm shocked he didn't make it and the regal did, would have thought the opposite.
I'm pretty surprised too, but the personifer is really tiny, when I emailed in about the dead fish I also emailed reminding them what size I ordered and when I get a replacement fish, I want one of the actual size I ordered, please ;) The regal is 2.5" and the personifer was 2" at the biggest, including tail and about 1/3 the mass of the regal. It was too small of a fish.

Yeah, it's an indo regal. I like the yellow belly but I like the gray/blue belly too. This one came up on Collector's Choice on Bluzoo so I went ahead and picked it up, looked good. I've been waiting for either blue zoo or Live aquaria to put one up and this was the first one I found.

I'm hoping I get around a 3" personifer soon... we will see what BZ says on Monday.

That's what I like about the Cuprisorb-it will keep turning green well after the test kit can detect copper, so you know when it is really all gone.

Have you regenerated it yet?
I havent regenerated it yet, but I will tomorrow night or Monday. I've got like 6 people in my house for the last 3 days, its crazy. I'm ready for a weekend...

The regal ate a little bit of angel formula a couple hours ago, so that was good to see. He didnt really tear into it, but he definitely little pieces, so I hope he/she is on the road to eating prepared foods well.

So far he is turning his nose up at mysis.

cupramine in fowlr. recty have you ever tried using red sea test kits for copper? the site states they are the same. i've did the 2 doses it requires but the test kit reads near .1 How fast does live rock absorb the treatment.

Hey recty im in the same boat as this guy if possible can u answer it will help me n this guy,or anybody else who knows the answer, thank u in advance

Man a 2" angel sent in cold water....that is tough on a fish indeed. I wonder if the change in temp from 62 to what? 75? so 13 degrees in about 30 minutes? would that be too fast? If you take a bag of 62 water and set it in a sump where the water is always passing through nearly maintaining a constant temp, how fast would that warm the bag? An experiment waiting to be done.

I never have used the Red Sea test kits. Seachem makes Cupramine so I use Seachem's test kits.

I used about 350 mL of cupramine to dose a 210g tank with a 55g sump that contains about 230 lbs of live rock... After I got up to the initial dose, I was adding about 25 drops of cupramine every 12 hours to maintain a .5 concentration. I basically dose at lunch and then at 9:45, right before the tank lights go out.

Yep, I think it was probably too much change OR just the fact that it sat in 60 degree water for probably 5 or 6 hours. I'm really surprised they didn't use heat packs.

Did they give a reason why they didn't? My only guess would be since they are in Southern CA they didn't want the water to get hot. That is something they need to figure out so this shipping to cooler areas or long distances isn't setting customers up for dead fish.

Eitherway, glad to hear about that regal showing interest in food.

I haven't talked to them yet, I emailed but their support is closed until Monday so I don't know the answer yet.

Well the regal isnt eating still, just a couple nibbles on some angel formula. It's been a real busy weekend but I'll start having more time this week to devote to getting it to eat.

The queen is worrying me, if she doesnt eat in the next couple days I'm going to pull her out to the QT tank and see if she is just being harassed at night or something and so just hides in the rocks all day.

I think my emperor might be slowly turning into a monster, I think probably the best idea would be just to remove him from the tank but I'd really hate to see him go.

Who is the emp going after (other than maybe the queen)? Is it the other angels? I thought the duss was the mean one. I have moved out one fish because it was being mean to a fish....and as soon as the mean one was out, another became the resident jerk....it is a hard battle to win. Hope it works out without having to take the emp out.....too pretty. Hope the regal eats too. I had good luck with that green formula flake food.

The dussumieri is mean to new fish, apparently, but once a fish is established he just ignores them. He didnt like the queen at first either but it was just a couple days he didnt care much for her then he just totally ignored her.

Yes, I'm afraid that as soon as I remove one fish, another will just step in as the bad boy of the tank.

I've always been willing to move around fish as they get aggressive, I've got a great LFS that takes them in and sells them for me, usually for about what I paid for them and then he keeps a little of the profit, which is fine by me. The emperor might end up there, we will see. I'm going to give it a couple more days, the queen ate a couple pellets last night that I saw and some of them go down behind the rocks where she is hanging out, so I assume she is eating at least a little still. Not ideal, but she isnt totally starving.

My other concern is I dont think I'll ever be able to place the regal or the personifer in the tank with the emperor in there, so I either need to get rid of the emperor which would suck, or plan on not adding any newer, more delicate fish to the system, which would also suck. I think I've said it already, but I'm debating setting up a smallish (75-125g range) reef tank, I'd probably just put my regal and scribbled in there and have them be the only fish and just not keep soft corals ;)

That was going to be my suggestion. You will always get ribbed about getting a bigger tank, but you really need a second to manage your fish.

So when you ordered the two new angels, were you thinking about where they'd go, what you'd do with them knowing you have a monster emperor, queen, majestic and blueface angel in the tank?

Yeah, if you read the thread I've said multiple times I pretty much planned on them going into a separate tank, I've been getting the hankering to set up a decent sized reef tank and they would probably go into that. I dont have any set plan though, I'm just seeing how things work out.

At the size I ordered them, I plan on them living in my sump for months. It has all the amenities of the main tank without the other fish to contend for food with.

I end up swapping out a lot of fish it seems, I'm more than willing to remove fish if they are getting aggressive. For what it's worth though this is the first time I've seen the emperor be aggressive towards anyone. He does the usual dominance thing when I put in a new fish but after an hour he ignores everyone and just does his thing.

I found the queen looking like she is having a rough time on the same day that my order shipped, if I had known the emperor was going to start being a punk I would have put off my order of these new fish until I get things figured out, but oh well, cant go back in the past and change it.

It's going to work out, I'll just do a fish flip flop and sell off either the new fish or the old ones as needed.

I like to keep my fish for many years so i stick with what works for me i have small numbers of fish and i just keep them well fed and clean .
I will not put any new fish in my tank other than what i have that is it.
It stress me out to have all this problems involve with adding new fish in the tank i just don't like it at all .
I don't know have you do it Recty :D

I am curious. Am I understanding the most recent posts correctly to understand that you recently ordered 2 large angels and a cleaner wrasse to go with the fish you already have in your tank?

Personally I think you just have too many bigger, aggressive fish for that size tank. I hope you get everythng figured out. I do appreciate you posting, it helps me see that some of my desires will not work either.
