could you please post your systems parameters/husbandry practices?
SG = 1.023 - 1.024
CA = 380 - 400
ALK = 9.0 - 9.9
PO4 = undetected (salifert)
Mg = 1350 (but don't test very often)
Temp = 79.2 - 79.9
The system has about 300g total volume, with 180g display, 125 sump, and 75 prop tank/refugium. Here's the system diagram:
Right now, I'm battling low alk and have some recession on some colonies as a result, so working to get it back up there where it needs to be. The 9.0-9.9 is a nominal range. Right now its down around 7.8!! :eek1: But with as much SPS as I am keeping, it is a constant battle to keep alk and CA levels correct. I expect that I will have to either get another reactor, or start up with a dosing regiment.
The normal husbandry is pretty low key. Clean the skimmer every 2-5 days, dose lugols weekly, dose strontium every other day or so. 30-35g water changes about every 2 weeks. Scraping the *&%$ coralline algae every week.
Let me know if I can answer any other questions, or I missed something.
Thanks for all the nice comments. Coming from this crowd, that really means a lot!
