Here are some pix from my 5g tank

Fire and Ice? Bought these from UReefer on rc, they looked like orange skirts with white disks for awhile, but they've sinced started looking more fire and icey. Less red in the skirts, a bit blue now:

I got these from Mr. Ugly last year! They were glued to a shell that a hermit crab took over. The zoos were dragged everywhere, and weren't doing too well. I then removed the zoos and transferred them to my small zoo tank. They're opening up and there's already a new polyp growing.

True Blue Zoos I got from Tropical Coral Oasis. A new polyp started growing already too. These took 4 days to finally start opening after I introduced them to the tank. Thanks to Frank for bringing these for me.

That xenia stalk I got at the raffle at the BAR swap. THis is just a fun picture of the middle of it. Since I bought it, I've realized it's a very pinkish xenia, that pulses really fast. WHen I first got it, it didn't pulse at all.

This picture is really dark, sorry =( Just a zoanthid frag I got from the BAR tables.

Are you using a macro lense? Very nice picture, what kind of camera?

Under what lights? I'm digging those blue zoas man.

thanks, the blues are one of my favorites.

I'm not. I'm working right now as an engineer for a security company. I'm applying for Fall 2007, either UC Hastings, UC Berkeley, Stanford, Santa Clara, or UCLA. All CA schools ;)

I'm using a Nikon D70 dslr body with a Sigma 105mm macro lens.

The lighting is 2x18watt 50/50 PC with a 55watt actinic PC heald near the tank to get the blue color. My 2x18watt isn't blue enough =( I was holding the actinic near the top of the tank while taking the pic =) not too hard I guess cuz i used a tripod and a remote shutter release.

Your macro shots are pretty nice. I'd agree the blues look pretty nice. I definitely need to get a nice camera some time ;p You have any pics of your entire tank?

Man the blue that I got from Frank is not like that.. I have to talk to him now :D

mine colored up like crazy under heavy actinic lighting =) they came kind of dull, and took forever top open!

here's a somewhat recent picture of the 5g tank, it's missing a few zoanthids that I've introduced since this pic was taken.

thanks for the comments! once they grow out, I'll put all the frags into my prop tank and start growing them out big time. Hope I can bring them to future frag swaps.

what kind of tank/lighting/filtration is that?

it says custom in your sig, but is it a custom tank? or setup?

It's a custom built tank. 1/2" cell cast acrlyic, rounded front corners. 12" x 12" x 9". I got it that dimension for my cubicle at work, but decided to just keep it at home. The display is only 12" x 9" x 9"

Lighting is a coralife 12" 2x18watt 50/50 PC. I'm waiting for the K2 viper by JBJ to come out which will come with a 70watt 14K bulb which I will swap out for a 20K.

Filtration is a ball of chaeto and the LR ;) I also run carbon and phosban from time to time, but it doesn't seem to have any effects.
