I never use a tripod, all are done hand held. For fish I pretty much use ISO 800, f4, 1/400 all the time. With other things it varies as more DOF is often needed.
So here is an example of what i do to almost all of my photos, i am in no way trying to tell you how to do anything, but just my opinion. i use photoshop for an autolevel, sometimes it works out good, and sometimes it works out not so good. I dont try to alter the colors or anything too. just an example for ya!
Usually I change the Kelvin of the pictures post processing manually in Aperture, along with other stuff I do, other than the ones from the top they've all been changed. With the stuff from the top I decided to leave it as 'exactly what you see'. Photography is subjective, so what one person thinks is ideal another will prefer it processed differently, which is good as it makes things more interesting.
I've switched over to LED's this week on the tank, It totally threw me after running T5's for so long. I'm running 2 AI SOLS now. They're currently at 50% brightness which is making things tricky and changed things completely. I've managed a few pictures under them though.
