Some of my images

They don't do that great in shipping sometimes so make sure you buy one that looks healthy and is feeding before parting with your cash to give you the best chance of success. Once acclimatised they're pretty hardy. Don't be alarmed if you don't see it for a week or so as they can be a bit unpredictable until they settle spending a lot of time in the sand. My latest one has only been out for a few hours a day so far.

I have 7 wrasse in total, zero issues from other fish including the tangs. I feed them mostly meaty frozen foods but they do take flake. My male ornate even eats nori.

To be more clear, what kinds of meaty foods?
Yes, I've read about wrasses eating nori quite a bite actually. I've observed it with a handful of fishes. I lost a female C. solorensis that was eagerly eating chopped nori, but only before being fed pellets and meaty foods (the fish jumped and was otherwise healthy). I love seeing wrasses eating seaweed. Raw seaweed has key minerals and vitamins that are balanced appropriately.

In my experience it just has to be chopped to the right size for planktivores and also fed in a manner so it doesn't all just float to the surface. I use a baster. :)

The photo of the clown is exceptional. Well done. The lighting on the clown is perfect and really makes it pop out from the darker background. I love it.

Mine tear the nori from the clip. Meaty foods I feed are Mysis, Brineshrimp, chopped Mussel and Krill.

Thank you, it's one of my favourites.

Looking back again.. this photo is absolutely off the hook.. one of the finest macro shots I have ever seen.. I have never seen a hermit's eyes in such detail... Fabulicious!

Are you using a tripod for the fish pictures too?

Any tips for getting the sharpness and focus (which you are excellent at, btw) for those fast movers? Just the high ISO setting?

Is the lighting just from the tank lighting, or are you using a flash of some sort as well?

I only use tank lighting (8 tube SP), my ISO is kept at 800 as I get noise any higher. For fish I set the AF to continuous and wait until I get the pose I want. None of my shots are done using a tripod, all hand held. HTH.

WOW, awesome pictures!

Thank you. :)

Yes, very nice indeed! Sharp, and great colour. They don't look overdone in post. Are you shooting in raw and what software are you using in PP? Any further WB adjustment in post or is it all in camera? I find I have to tweak WB in LR3 when I shoot as I can never get it true to life straight out of the camera.

I meant to ask as well are you shooting always with a tripod (I'm assuming yes for at least macros), or any handhelds (maybe for the fish?)

I don't use a tripod for any pictures, I've got one but I don't bother using it. I shoot in JPG, post processing is done in aperture to change the WB as my tube combo is heavy on blues. I've tried manually setting the WB on my camera but it doesn't come out right. I've edited one of the preset ones to remove most of the blue, rest is done post processing to finish it off.

Thanks. :)
