Hope you enjoyed them, I have a dussi tang and vlagimini in qt to add

Gorgeous fish, all fat and healthy! Looks like you've done a superb job.

Do you have a FTS or a group shot of these beautiful tangs?

sweet pics!

how long have you had the sailfin and achilles? Just wondering how big to expect an achilles to grow in the home aquarium? I'm guessing around 7" tops. Mines are around 5"ish. Just added a 3.5" sailfin as well.

Sailfin for only 2.5 years about.. I dont think he will get much bigger he is huge, 2 inches think. The achilles I have seen them get to a good 7 inches. I havent had any problem w aggression but all of them do chase each other frm time to time, but no fighting.. I think feeding often may help this

Great shot! Your tank is beautiful.

My Achilles is about the same size as yours, maybe a hair smaller. How has the growth rate on yours been? Was he small when you got him? Mine just seems to grow wider.

thanks guys! He doesn't grow terribly fast, i think he may grow another inch or two but def not huge i would imagine.. He does eat a lot, I think he learned this by watching his tank mates.. In the beginning he only ate nori.

Awesome tank! I am about to build a 300g tank with very similar tang list as what you have here. Whats your feeding schedule and what all do you feed at a time?

thanks man.. I usually feed around 1-3 pm then 6-8, then 930 (1020 lights go out)

just spread out 3 small feeding. an example would be a third of a full size sheet of nori i just tear it up and throw it in.. I usually will soak nori and cyclopleeze together w garlic and some vit c then use that for a meal.. And one of the 3 meals is usually a sprinke of spectra therma a pellets or the normal spectra pellets... thats there usual everyday food.. I try to feed mysis and those nutri eggs once a week too..

Sometimes i do just feed twice a day, but when you have new additions or aggression I feed more often, this has helped a lot.

You can def feed less for example half a sheet of nori and mis cyclopleeze with it in a cup... pour that in 3x in the course of a day, or twice depending on time... I would switch it up daily.. feed them a lot when they are smaller as they reach adult size they really dont need tons of food because they are pretty much done developing.. at this point small and more frequent meals... this is what I have read and it seems to be working pretty well...

LOVE!!!!! The pics of the desjardinii came out stunning!

Hope your new tang clears up the fluke problem. I just read the other thread before this one. Seems like he's definitely in capable hands!

both tangs that were in qt all healthy and happy, all get along.. The V tang was getting beat up for a good week by the Achilles, all ok now, the dussi eats like crazy!

Achilles is on my wish list, but must be preceded by a bigger tank! What size tank did you use to QT these Tangs? I've got a completely separate 30 long mini mixed reef that I use as an 'introduction' tank for new fish, do you think that would suffice for a smaller Achilles? if fish need treatment, they go into a separate hospital tank.
